The Bottle Count

One bi-product of any good party is always the bottles, and this year was no exception. As always we are very environment concious here so, recycling here we come. Not in the usual format however. This year, all the empties were shipped back to the UK to help create some strange patio for my sister and brother in law. I'm sure they'll enlighten us with a comment on this post.

The Beer count,

Bier Blonde = 164

Top Budget Beer = 158

Stella = 24

Kronenberg = 26

"33" = 29

Kings Brau = 24

Koenigsbier = 68

Saint Omer = 42

Leffe= 2 (large)

Speciality Beer = 4

Misc beer = 3 (no label and odd shaped)

Starberg = 1 (Yes one 25cl bottle! Answers on a postcard please)

Saint Omer = 2 (yes i know there is a count for these above but these are full ones :)

The Cider count ,

Sweet cider = 19

Brut Cider = 4

Home brew = 5 (Self emptying, a little in the active side)

Magners = 3

The Wine count

Red = 21

White = 9

Rose = 1 (there's always one!)

Asti = 6

Champagne = 6 (mixed count real and bubbly apple based plonk)

The Spirit count

Calvados = 2

Cognac = 2

Pastis = 2

Milk = 2 (From Coconut not cow sorry Mo!)

Disarronno = 1 (Own up who was it!)

Jack Daniel's = 2 (Yes we know Steve :)

Nibbles

Olives green = 1 large jar

Total Bottles 633

Now lets remember this total does NOT include anything emptied after Ewan left with the van on Monday afternoon. It also does not include any spirit bottles that still had some contents left. Also not included in the count were cans of beer or Boxes of wine! So those that have looked at the count and thought well it is a lot but not too bad may wish to re evaluate.

Thanks Rob for the detailed breakdown. So in addition

5 litre barrels of red wine =6

5 litre boxed wine =3

Additional assorted beer bottles found around the garden and house = 82

Beer cans I estimate at about 36

We also recycled bottles for 125 litres of water but who cares about that.

The plan for the bottles is to fill a number of GABION BASKETS (those metal cages by the side of the motorway usually filled with rocks). They will form the footings for a raised patio round the shed. The process of removing the lables and sorting has begun. Unfortunately I will not have enough to complete the task and will be forced to empty some more bottles myself. Its a hard life :)

Cheers

Disarronno was Jean's pancake topping. Ewan too apparently.

You can extend the patio into No.73 if you get too many bottles, Rob. That's always a possibility in your (extended) family!
