Peters Birthday Part 2

Grandand has requested a clean, smiling photo of the birthday boy. I think I have just about managed it!!!
We have been to Mcdonalds and now the three wee peeps are settled down watching a DVD. I am sure the peace and quiet will only last a few moments. After Mcdonalds we took in the sights of Caen and the one way system that Andrew loves so much. The kids were quite excited to see a tram, a flag and the castle!!!!
Have a lovely evening peeps.

Three Years Old!!

I cant believe that three years have gone by since I was sat in my sister in laws living room, complaining about tummy pains and wondering why she kept looking to see what the time was!!! A few hours later I realised that she had been timing the contractions. Peter arrived the following morning, what a long night!!
It is of course Peters 3rd birthday today and he has had lots of fun already opening presents and cards. He is now settled down watching a new DVD with Josh, hmm, wonder how long that will keep him quiet?
Andrew and Kirsty have just left to pick up our latest acquisition, two new beds. On their return we are off to Peters favourite restaurant and then we are picking up some windows!!! What a busy day ahead.
Love to everyone and thank you lots from Peter for all of his presents and cards. xx

PARTY TIME IS ON ITS WAY!!!!

I am reliably informed that it is 29 days until the biggest party of 2009!!! The end of May should see the Larcombe clan coming together with their friends again to create mayhem in the villages and towns of Calvados. Hopefully this year should be bigger and better than last year. I am not sure how, but we will think of something!! I have invited lots of friends from work on the Sunday so I will need to be on best behaviour for at least part of the weekend!!! (If you have not booked your space give us a call or send us a message.)
The weather in Normandy this week is fabulous. We have had glorious sunshine and Andrew and the children are sporting the new sunburnt fashions! Apparently, I have to put some special cream on Andrews neck this evening to make it better. Should prove an interesting night!!!!
Today is also St Georges Day and more importantly Grandma Irenes birthday. Happy Birthday Grandma Irene, we love you!!!

37 Days till party time

Whilst I'm busy on one hand counting down the days until our annual party event, on the other hand I am busy ramping up the works on the gite to insure we have adequate facilities and accomodation for everyone.
Progress has been good so far with nearly all of upstairs insulated and dry lined. We have the shells of 2 bathrooms in place with all the waste pipes connected right the way through to the septic tank. Doors and locks have been fitted to the bathrooms but I'm still waiting to find some more doors for the bedrooms.
The windows are due to be fitted in the next week or so and the 3 external doors should, fingers crossed, be fitted a couple of days before the party. I say fingers crossed, because they are being made to order, and, this is France.
All the plumbing should commence in the next 2 weeks which will mean we will then have working sinks and toilets. The electrics upstairs have all been installed, barring a couple of light fittings and, we shall be starting the downstairs electrics by the end of this week.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone!! The Easter Bunny has been very busy in France this morning already. Peter was amazed to find some chocolate this morning next to his bed. He had left his dummy out last night for the Easter Bunny to give it to a little baby boy. What an exchange!!!

The blossom is out on the plum tree, Spring must be on the way ..... The children are creating havoc as it is the school hols for two whole weeks. Thankfully I have go to work!!! Grandma and Tom are working hard and shopping hard, no change there. Andrew is also working hard in the gite, or so he is telling me!!!! I will have to take some more photos at the weekend of the progress!!!! Kirsty and Andrew decided that they were definitely missing Grandand this evening. In honour of this Andrew decided to tattoo Kirsty with PAID!!!! We are all looking forward to seeing him in the not too distant future. Maybe he will bring his PAID stamp with him for us .....

We're Free .......

Today was the day that the goats were set free ....... However, we did not bank on Magellan deciding that they looked very tasty pieces of meat!!!! After chasing him and Rosie for nearly an hour we managed to convince them that the grass in the orchard looked tastier than the baby goats. At last, the babies could run free ......

I know its not his birthday yet .......

Peter is ecstatic today. Andrew has got soft in his old age and has given Peter his birthday present early. He is happily bouncing the afternoon away now .... He has fitted in a little work though ...
Andrew is still buying his bargains on leboncoin. We have collected nine radiators this morning and still have some cartwheels and some windows to get. I dread to think what he will find next...... At least I can vet the purchases as it is me that has to call and buy them.
