Fingers Crossed it is Working!

Well, we are hoping that a very nice man called Mark has just fixed our internet. Apparently it was a dibbly dabbly in the thingy wotsit that interferes with something or other!! Clear as mud. Well, we arrived here safely on 27 December and it was cold! We lit the fire/stove in the kitchen and all was well. The kids went to explore and that took most of the day. We spent the next few days getting our bearings, buying food and waiting impatiently for our first visitors. Tony arrived for New Year which was absolutely great. Andrew and Tony worked hard moving the electric fence and i worked hard trying to get a recovery vehicle and Tonys car fixed! Thankfully my french worked on this occasion and he managed to catch the ferry home a few days later. Two days later we tested the accident and emergency unit. The graze that Andrew had gained in the palm of his hand from the fence post had gained an infection. It had swollen to at least twice the size and had a red river to his elbow! Thankfully the doctor spoke good English and we came way with a prescription and an instruction not to drink the alcohol that was for the bandage! That trauma over, we had to buy a car. Easy enough in English, bit harder work in French. But we are now the proud owners of a Peogeot 406 with roof rack and tow ball!! Not quite a land rover but it works which is more than can be said for my Renault. That just needs one last fling to get Andrew safely back to England and it can have some love at the garage. Kirsty has been to her first birthday party, which was really good fun. She enjoyed it loads and is now looking forward to her party on Saturday. She is hoping to have five friends, her teacher and her teachers husband. School is going great and we are now in week four. Kirsty spends all day playing and Josh has to work hard. Mummy helps though and we are learning very fast. We had to learn a poem this weekend. I think I did quite well!! School is closed on a Wednesday which means we get a break mid week but they do go on a Saturday morning. Even so, that still means two and a half days off a week instead of two in England. An advantage that the kids think is great. Anyway, I must go and do some more work now. We will add lots of photos soon and hope to hear from everyone soon. Thanks to everyone for well wishes and cards and speak soon. Love to all. xxx
